Tried a new style: gongbi line drawing + modern vector flat coloring. 

Retained 55% large areas of negative space, pursuing that "refined and elegant" Ming Dynasty aesthetic. The focus is on removing the greasy feel of thick painting and light-shadow effects, using extremely restrained two-level brightness shadows to express volume.
The effect turned out surprisingly clear and translucent!
